TransLution Language support allows operator messages to be displayed in one of up to 5 languages based on the operator default language.

All the configurable text that is normally configured for end users - function areas, flow steps and workflow description will be displayed based on the user default language. Standard validation errors can also be returned in the user language. Finally, it is also possible to use the same logic to make all custom validation messages also show in the operator language of choice but this is dependent on the implementation work down.

The configuration is done using a combination of the language maintenance forms to define the languages and the messages in each language. It is also necessary to define the default language for each user - this defualts to 1 (English) when creating new users.

The bulk of the effort lies in setting up languages for each step description.

Please note that this is specifically NOT multi-lingual support in the traditional sense where the software language can be selected and the user can then use the product in the selected language. All the TransLution configuration is still done in English but what we have done is allowed for operator information on EazyTouch and EazyScan devices to be displayed in any one of up to five languages - based on the language defined as the operator default language.

A very simple way to deal with only one other language besides English is to set up all descriptions that the operator will see use the second language. This simple alternative is commonly used where all the operators speak the same language.
