One of the key features of TransLution is the ability to do direct Syspro business calls from the Scanner. This is also referred to as the Live posting functionality of TransLution. The specific license or version of Syspro may limit the business object calls available to users but this document is concerned with the setup and configuration of the functionality and will assume that all options are available.

 

Before any of the details of the specific scanner prompt sequences can be defined the Syspro XML files that are going to be used are defined. TransLution is delivered with a number of business object files along with their parameter files already in place. For a new business object, this will have to be added.

 

It is important to note that Live posting only supports Transaction and Setup posting business objects, queries are not supported. There are various ways to use TransLution to show the result of queries to Syspro, either on a PC form or directly on the scanner but this tool does not do that. The best place to find the correct XML files would be either the Syspro e.net diagnostic tool or the Syspro Business Object reference library on the Syspro Support Zone.
