Scanner Hardware
Scanner Hardware - Introduction
General
The wireless scanner is to be considered as a fragile and expensive IT tool to the business and should be handled with extreme care. As a precaution all scanners are provided with a rubber glove that covers the exposed edges of the scanner to provide a level of drop and bump protection.
For ease of use all scanners have been supplied with a trigger. This is the handle with an incorporated scan trigger to scan barcodes.
All scanners have been supplied with a stylus pen. This is the only item to be used when using the touch screen on the scanner. Any other items used such as pens, pencils, screws, staples, splinters of wood etc. are hazards to the touch screen and will cause damage beyond repair. The screen will have to be replaced and will not be considered under the warranty of the scanner.
Before signing for the scanner ensure that all these accessories are fixed to the scanner and are in working order.

Battery Care
At the end of the day all users must complete the job they are busy with, log of from the scanner and switch the scanner off.
If the battery warning light is displayed the scanner must be switched off by pressing the on/off button. Then remove the battery and place the battery into the charging station. Insert a fully charged battery into the scanner and switch the scanner back on by pressing the on/off button. The scanner will start up in TransLution with the existing job and user. Simply continue scanning the process you were busy with.
Do not allow the battery to run totally flat as you may compromise the configuration and or the current job on the scanner.
Do not remove the battery without first switch the scanner off by pressing the on/off button.
If at all possible avoid inserting a battery that is not fully charged into the scanner, this can cause the battery life to be compromised.
