A TransLution EDI step allows for and EDI document to be built and placed in the required location either a local file folder or an FTP location. The Step uses data that was previously scanned and pulled together in SQL views to build the document with the required header, body and footer structure.  There are a various setup steps that need to be done before an EDI Step can be configured and this document covers those.

EDI Layout Maintenance - this is where the bulk of the work is done and the file layout is defined

EDI Target Maintenance - The target describes what the EDI file is called and where TransLution must move the file once it has been created

EDI Step Maintenance - The final stage is how to define which data is used to build the file as per the previously defined layout.

The TransLution product offers the ability to build EDI files in a the layout as required by the client. As such it is assumed that the implementer building the solution has a good understanding of EDI file requirements and of the client specific needs. TransLution is not shipped with any default EDI definitions or configurations.
