Upgrading from TransLution Version 7.1 to Version 7.5 is largely a standard upgrade. Unless you are communicating with scales, there are no major issues to be aware of. The steps to follow are exactly as for upgrades from 7.0 with one change. There is no longer a need to upgrade Android devices manually.

Please read the section on managing Log files here. This is critical when installing V7.5

Scale Comms

When upgrading from an earlier version of TransLution to V7.3 and scales are being used, please note that there have been some significant changes made to how scales are setup and configured. This has contributed greatly to the stability and reliability of the scale comms but does mean that some work is required when upgrading. Before you upgrade, take screenshots of the existing scale setup. After the upgrade you will be required to redefine the scale setup. Having the previous setup on hand will make this easier.

Auto Update

In order to have Android devices auto update, the Android apk file must be uploaded to the database using the TransLution Client Software Maintenance Utility. If you have an older version (pre V7.1) of the utility installed, uninstall that and install the latest version. You only require this to be installed once. We recommend installing it on the same server as EazySetup.

Use this application to upload the TranLution Android apk file to the TransLution Common database.

Once this has been done, each user will then have the application automatically upgrade next time they run Android.
